This mural commemorates one of the old Kraków milk bars – Bar “Barcelona”, which was located in the now demolished building located next to the building hosting the mural.
Dia de Sant Jordi (or St. George Day) is also called “The Day of the Rose” (“El dia de la Rosa”) or “The day of the Book” (“El dia del Libre”) and is widely celebrated in Catalonia as Sant Jordi is Catalonia’s patron. Traditionally on this day lovers, friends and and colleagues exchange gifts – “A rose for love and a book forever”.
23rd of April is also the only day when Barcelona’s City Hall is opened to visitors.
