I added a new gallery today with photos from Manila. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to explore Manila and Philippines as much as I would’ve liked to over that trip, though still managed to take few snaps. Most of the photos are from City of Makati in Metro Manila.
New Gallery – Singapore
Here are some of my favorite photos from the new Singapore gallery, that you haven’t seen yet. Weather wasn’t great during the trip – very cloudy and rainy – hardly perfect lighting conditions. Fortunately evenings were mostly clear which allowed for some nice photos of the iconic Singapore skyline including those of the Marina Bay Sands laser show.
All the photos were taken with Canon 7D with Canon 17-55 f/2.8 (my favorite lens recently) and Sigma 10-20 f/4-5.6 lenses.
New Gallery – Hong Kong
As promised yesterday on the new @ToughTomatoes Twitter account, new Hong Kong gallery is ready.
Some information about the photos in the Hong Kong gallery:
– Camera: Nikon D7000
– Date taken: 23-30 December 2011
– Photos taken: 1101

New Gallery – Tokyo
I added a new gallery today – Tokyo. It contains photos from September 2012.
During the trip I stayed in one of the hotels on the Odaiba island. There were some downsides to staying in Odaiba (mainly extra commute cost to get to Tokyo) but overall I really enjoyed it. Apart from the peace and quiet I did not expect to find in Tokyo (very welcome after the full day of sightseeing!) hotels on the island offer some stunning views. It was definitely worth to pay extra for the room with the Rainbow Bridge view. The balcony was just big enough to set up a tripod – this way I managed to take a few decent shots, like this one of the boat.
Whilst wondering around Shimbashi I came across a building that really caught my attention due to its’ bizarre form. It looked too run-down for a hotel and too small to be a residential building. It turned out to be the Nakagin Capsule Tower. Built in 1972 and designed by Kisho Kurokawa it was a world’s first example of capsule architecture built for actual use – both as residential(!) and office space. Unfortunately I have no photos from the inside, though I found quite interesting post about the current (March 2012) state of the building with some photos on TokyoTimes.
Check out the rest of the photos in Tokyo gallery.
